Games of the Year

In no particular order, my games of the year:
- Portal: Thrilling minimalism. I can’t say anything that hasn’t already been said.
- Jeanne D’Arc: Strategic excellence. This game brought me back to the SRPG genre. My only complaint after 45+ hrs of play: the final boss is totally unbalanced in my opinion.
- Mass Effect: Sci-fi questingness. Yeah, it’s no Oblivion but it just keeps me pulled in somehow, and I didn’t like KOTOR.
- Puzzle Quest: Bejeweled RPG. You want to play bejeweled-based combat, and you want to ride a giant rat around the countryside? There’s only one game in town.
