I’m older.
Today is the big day. It’s my birthday, and I’m older. So far I have received a cute silver Cheerio necklace from Falco, gone toy shopping with our friends, and talked to my mom and grandmother on the phone. Tonight, Matt and I are going out for sushi while a friend comes over to stay with Falco.
Enough about me though, let me fill you in on overdue Falco updates. He has been walking full time for about a week and a half. He is getting pretty comfortable and quick on his feet, and if I put him down in public he immediately takes off. Also, on Valentine’s Day he started saying mama. I could point to myself and ask, “Who’s this?” and he would say “mom” or “mama.” That was one of the most exciting things he has ever done, and I asked him at least 50 times throughout the day. I think I made him tired of it because now he will only say it maybe 10% of the time when I ask. He also says “a da” or “deedee” for Daddy, “gogogo” when he wants to get down, and “ack” for stack like when he is stacking toys or dishes. I think those are the only consistent words. He is also working on saying up, light, baby, and duck but hasn’t quite worked out the kinks on those yet.
“Where is the video,” you ask? I haven’t managed to get a decent movie of the walking or attempted talking because every time I take the camcorder out he tries to take it from me, starts fussing because he can’t have it, and that ends the movie. I’ll keep trying.
